Day Walks
There's excellent walking in North Wales, the Peak District,
and Shropshire, so we run day walks throughout the year.
|
|
Evening Walks
We make the most of the summer evenings with an evening walk
each week, taking in Cheshire villages, the Sandstone Trail
and the Clwydian Hills. It makes a sociable mid-week escape
and there's always a drink afterwards.
|
|
Mountain Biking
There's great mountain biking in the Clwydian Hills and Snowdonia,
including purpose-built routes at Llandegla Forest and
Coed-y-Brenin.
|
|
Road Biking
Club members enjoy road biking as well as mountain biking,
so there are day rides and some cycle touring weekends away.
|
|
Evening Rides
Delamere Forest and the Clwydian Hills are within easy reach for
evening MTB rides, and the Cheshire lanes offer plenty of road
biking options. Mid-week rides every week during the summer make a
refreshing, energetic and often beautiful break from the office
9-5.

|
Scrambling and Climbing
Our harder day walks sometimes include sections of scrambling,
and we occasionally do longer scrambling routes.
The club has an active group of regular climbers, who frequent a
number of local climbing walls throughout the winter and take the
opportunity to climb outdoors in the summer (when the weather
allows).
|
|
Outdoor Pursuits
Anybody with a good idea is welcome to run an event, so other
activities range from scrambling and caving, through to canoeing,
surfing, sailing and skiing.
|
|
Weekends Away
We've got easy access to some of the best parts of the country,
so our weekends away take us to North Wales, the Lake District,
the Peak District, the Yorkshire Dales, and even Scotland.
We stay in youth hostels or bunk houses, or camp.
|
|
Scotland Trips
We run a week-long trip to Scotland every May, giving a great
opportunity to do the Scottish classics, tick off some Munros,
go biking or kayaking, or just relax on the beach.
|
|
Mountain Trips
Over the years, club members have arranged holidays in the Alps,
including via ferrata and mountain routes in the Dolomites.
|
|
Pub Stops
It's not all hard work - we nearly always end up in a tea shop or
pub. The places we go also have some of the best beer, so opinion
is divided on the relative merits of Coniston Bluebird,
Copper Dragon, Aviator, and Eastgate.
